This episode, I got to hang out with Eliza Redmann, a talented artist who brings her architectural background to her creative work. Eliza shared her journey of transitioning from her architecture career to becoming a passionate sculptural artist - a shift that was sparked by a life-changing car accident. In addition, she also serves on the public art committee for the city of Durham, where she is leading an innovative initiative to make public art more accessible.
I had a great time learning more about Eliza and her incredible journey. Her experience of overcoming brain injury and a hostile work environment to now having her art installations housed around the country and being licensed by other companies was absolutely incredible. I found that she expanded my understanding of the uses and opportunities for art. I often wondered how artwork landed in corporate lobbies or how businesses sourced artists for their creative partnerships. Eliza gives a look into all of that and more.
